Rainbow Mountain

Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca, is located about 100 kilometers southeast of Cusco in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Its colorful appearance is a result of mineral deposits like iron oxide and copper sulfate. We can enjoy panoramic views from its summit at approximately 5,200 meters above sea level.

• Departure: 3am (we arrive before the crowds)

• Hike: 1.5-2h uphill, 1-1.5h downhill

• Extra: Optional 40 min hike to the Red Valley viewpoint.

• Difficulty: Moderate to difficult (option to rent a horse)

• Breakfast and lunch in the most beautiful and professional hacienda in this area of Cusco
