OVERVIEW

Famous for its impressive pelagic encounters, the Southern Maldives circuit is highly regarded among divers. Embark on a thrilling journey through canals, exploring breathtaking landscapes and fulfulling your dream of encountering the legendary pelagics for which the Maldives is renowned. Prepare for challenging dives!

A typical day aboard the boat is structured as follows:

06:30 Wake up. Tea / coffee.

07:00 First dive.

09:00 Breakfast.

11:00 Second dive.

13:00 Lunch.

15:30 Third dive.

17:00 Snacks. Tea / coffee.

19:00 Cocktails.

20:00 Dinner.

In case of a night dive, the dinner (and cocktails) will be rescheduled after the dive, which will take place around 19:00.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 HULHUMALÉ, KOODDOO

A Dune agent will met you at Malé International Airport and transfer you to the domestic terminal for your domestic flight to Kooddoo located on Gaafu Atoll where your guides will be waiting to welcome you and guide you aboard the boat.

DAY 2 GAAFU SOUTH, FUVAHMULAH

Gaaf dhall is made up of very beautiful canals with intact corals and very frequented by pelagics. Depending on current and wind conditions we will then head to the mythical site of Fuvahmulah. Located below the equator, it is renowned for the presence of many sharks, in particular tiger sharks, and very often reserves beautiful surprise encounters!

DAY 3 FUVAHMULAH

We will spend the day on this mythical atoll searching for large pelagic fish and special encounters. In addition to the beautiful underwater scenery, there are also chances to encounter napoleons and other shoals of coral fish. Depending on the weather conditions, we will anchor here at night.

DAY 4 FUVAHMULAH, GAAFU

A last dive on Fuvahmulah atoll and then we will go back up to Gaafu to enjoy the multitude of canals that this atoll offers. Afterwards we will anchor at night with the possibility to observe whalesharks at the back of the boat.

DAY 5 GAAFU, LAAMU

Return from the deep south. In general the crossing is done at night and we arrive on Laamu atoll at first daylight where we visit other dive sites, especially colourful reefs with many beautiful surprises.

DAY 6 LAAMU, THAA

We will leave for Thaa Atoll where we will anchor the boat where it is famous for its whaleshark encounters at night, and then we will do more dives in the rich canals while waiting for nightfall.

DAY 7 THAA, MEEMU

On the way up to the north, we will go to Meemu to dive other sites with a variety of colours and fauna, and enjoy a session with manta rays.

DAY 8 MEEMU, VAAVU

A stop at Fotteyo, one of the richest and most famous dives in the Maldives with unrivalled colour, but also very famous for the possibility of encountering hammerhead sharks. In addition, the environment around the anchorage offers a splendid sunset over the sandbank.

DAY 9 VAAVU, SOUTH MALÉ

Return to Guraidhoo with the opportunity to visit the fisherman's island and dive two legendary and unmissable canals.

DAY 10 SOUTH & NORTH MALÉ

Back to the starting point with a last dive surrounded by stingrays and giant moray eels and sometimes even a guitar shark who will come to see us every now and again. then rinsing of the equipment, sunset, and last evening on board.

DAY 11 HULHUMALÉ

Departure from the boat to Malé Airport for your international flight.

Practial Info

Diver Level CMAS 2** or Advanced Open Water Diver with a minimum of 30 logged dives required. Open Water Diver is accepted on condition of passing the Advanced Open Water Diver on board at the beginning of the trip as per local regulations.

Food Local cuisine and international menus will be serve onboard.

Rooms Double cabin sharing basis. If you register as an individual, it is up to you to agree to share your cabin with a man or a woman or to book a single cabin for an additional fee. The beds of some cabins can be moved to form a double bed or 2 single beds.

Airport pickup and transfers Domestic flights are available to book 2 months before departure. When you arrive at Malé International Airport, you will first go through the security checkpoint and collect your luggage. Then you will be welcomed by Dune Maldives staff who will arrange for you to board your next flight to Kooddoo. The return is immediately after breakfast on the last day. Let us know for early arrival or late departure.
